Vintage now, always and forever…

I’ve always had a love for vintage and unusual handmade jewellery since I was a wee nipper! My grandma had lots of beautiful costume jewellery and I loved nothing more than sitting with her, in her bedroom and go through her drawer of treasure.

She had such a variety of jewellery from beads to brooches and each piece had a little story behind it. Some where holiday souvenirs, treasured gifts and bargain’s found whilst thrifting.

I would help grandma to pack for her holidays and this included choosing and matching jewellery items to all of her holiday outfits. She was a very stylish lady and had a great eye for colours. There was a beaded necklace to match every blouse and a brooch for every jacket.

As I got older I started to spot vintage jewellery in the charity shops and began my own collection. I was particularly drawn to Art Deco style necklaces with glass beads and rustic looking cuff bangles made from pewter, brass or copper.

Now I source vintage jewellery from up and down the UK, Yorkshire in particular. I’m always on the look out for those special pieces, collectors items and I love anything Art Deco.

When I handle a piece of vintage jewellery for the first time, whilst cleaning it up, I like to imagine what wonderful adventures it’s been on… Maybe it was a gift from a lover, worn to glamorous evening balls, dazzling everyone with its beauty!

Its quite the privilege to be able to restore a damaged vintage piece and give it the opportunity to sparkle once more. The quality of vintage jewellery is splendid and far superior to the horrid fast fashion jewellery they churn out today.

I’m quite the magpie and I’m drawn to anything that sparkles or shines. Car boots, charity shops, antique stores are a few of the places you’ll find me rummaging away, searching for lost treasure.

Nine Lives Vintage…

My reselling journey started over on Etsy. I have been selling vintage jewellery and my handmade jewellery on here for a few years now.

I will continue to list vintage jewellery on Etsy, so do take a peek if you’re looking for good quality costume jewellery. There’s a huge variety of items and if you love a bargain, head over to the clearance/sale section!

You can expect excellent customer service from our Etsy shop as well as this website. Feel free to read the reviews over on Etsy, I pride myself on my five start service.

Collecting and wearing…

Vintage jewellery has always been my go to choice for several reasons. Firstly, I never had a love for fast fashion and didn’t really want to be wearing what anyone else was wearing. I wanted to be different, to have my own style.

Thrifting is in my blood and I come from a long line of charity shop shoppers! Sourcing vintage jewellery from charity shops, car boot and jumble sales meant I was able to own some stunning pieces for a fraction of their original cost. Vintage jewellery is affordable and often greater quality than the stuff they churn out today through mass production.

I have built up a collection of vintage jewellery across the years. I absolutely adore bangles and in particular, cuff bangles. Brass and copper are amongst my favourite materials and I have a brooch pinned to each and everyone of my jackets/coats.

Upcycled Jewellery Creations

Honouring the past, with a nod to the future!

Sadly, some vintage jewellery can become broken beyond repair. I salvage as much as I can from an original piece and engage my intuition and imagination to help me forge something unique and beautiful.

My handmade jewellery is truly unique, incorporating elements of vintage with modern day materials. It gives me great pleasure to see vintage beads, pearls, clasps, and findings, brought back to life in new designs. Each piece is created with loving care and great enthusiasm! I love nothing more than loosing myself in a creative session, not realising what time or day it is. When the weather is fine, I enjoy working in my garden among the wild flowers and herbs.

I have a passion for recycling, reusing, and re-purposing quality materials. This ethical and sustainable approach supports my creativity and allows me to work with some wonderful and unusual materials.

The silver I work with is ‘Eco Silver’ made from recycled sterling silver. I also purchase metal off-cuts from companies who would otherwise throw them away. I buy all my gemstones from reputable sellers or rescue them from pre-loved broken jewellery.

My handmade jewellery features limited edition and unique pieces inspired by images that come to me through meditation and dreams. I’m often inspired by the ancient Egyptians, sacred symbols, folklore, and all things mystical and magical.

All pieces which incorporate vintage elements are cleansed before being sent on to their new owner. This helps to remove any residual energy from its previous life. I use recycled and eco-friendly packaging including – postage boxes, Kraft tape, eco sticky tape, paper stickers… and would encourage customers to recycle all packaging!

Donate you unwanted & broken jewellery

I’m always happy to save unwanted and broken jewellery from the landfill! If you have anything laying around that you are happy to donate, please get in touch. I upcycle both broken modern and vintage jewellery, working them into new designs. For example, a broken beaded bracelet might become a pair of new earrings or the beads might be added to a new necklace design! The possibilities are endless.
