Every element in this necklace once belonged to something else. A mid-century rhinestone necklace, broken and set aside. Three Italian micro mosaic medallions, their tiny tesserae hand-laid decades ago in shades of cobalt and sky blue. Cloisonné beads with delicate enamelled florals. Art deco glass beads in deep indigo. None of them were destined for the bin — they were waiting for a second life, and this is it.
I’ve woven these fragments together into a layered, one-of-a-kind bib necklace that’s part vintage, part new creation. The rhinestone collar forms the heart of the piece, framed by the glowing micro mosaic medallions — each one a tiny scene of old-world Italian craftsmanship. Cloisonné and glass beads dangle alongside a freshwater pearl, and a hand-finished silver tone spiral pendant adds an organic, shell-like focal point. A vintage-style paperclip chain anchors it all, extended with a cable chain so it sits beautifully as a statement piece.
